How to Recycle Stringjoy Packaging
Stringjoy guitar string packaging consists of three elements:
1. AN EXTERIOR CARTON
Our outer packaging is made from paper and is widely accepted in curbside recycling programs around the world.
2. INTERIOR ENVELOPES
Beginning in 2025, our individual string envelopes are made from a high-barrier composite of paper, aluminum, and plastic. This innovative material allows us to significantly reduce our plastic use while maintaining the highest level of protection in the industry. These envelopes are recyclable in many areas, though not all. The material is most similar to what’s used in Tetra Pak-style milk cartons.
3. STRINGS
Once they’ve done their job, used guitar strings (or bass, mandolin or banjo strings) are considered scrap metal. Like other forms of scrap metal, they’re often recyclable—sometimes even through curbside pickup. Just dispose of them as you would any other metal recyclables.
